kim faires photography + stuff
Kim, I love the way you have captured hands… They are such an unappreciated part of us, and yet every time I look, really look, at someone’s hands, I imagine all the caresses they have given and the stories those fingerprints could tell. I have a tattoo of a sketch of my hand overlaid with my kids’ hands. That is our story, eternally preserved on my skin, until it morphs into something different, like an ocean or a weird caterpillar. But you get the idea…. Hands are how we connect to one another without words.
I completely agree! You can see a person’s life in their hands, as much as in their eyes. I think one reflects a person’s spirit, and the other shows her physical journey. That’s why age-guessers at the carnival always look at the hands.
